|
Bird Feet On A Windy Day is a suite consisting of a trio, duet, solo, and sextet. The trio, duet, and solo are created to be dynamically opposed to one another. The trio, But Your Feet Are Clean, is full of strong pounding and stops that move bodies into space creating a rhythmic force. The duet, Arm Hairs, Wood Grain, Scent of Air, explores imaginative and real surfaces within air space, on the floor, and around or on bodies. The solo, Complicated Birds, is a maze of light, quick, and multi-directional movement. The 4th piece (sextet), On A Windy Day, is a direct culmination of the prior 3 pieces, contrasting and combining their movements and qualities to extreme limits. The combination of these pieces creates an altogether new element greater than the sum of its parts. Premiered 11/08. |
